Wayne Selden is a power guard.  He has abnormal upper body strength for a shooting guard with especially wide shoulders.  While he’s a solid shooter from the perimeter, his best strength is attacking the basket.  He was able to do so almost at will, even running a few pick-and-roll plays.

What was most impressive about his play was how solid he played on both ends of the floor, without losing energy.  He’s a high fly act in transition, attacked the basket with a quick first step, and was able to slice up the Duke defense for points in the paint.  What is scary is he didn’t impose his will offensively, and yet was efficient throughout.  I particularly liked his shot selection and was surprised by his ability to create plays for teammates.  He finished with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists on 5 of 10 shooting from the field.
