Injuries have ravaged Nash and there is no return to glory for the 39 year old. It will be a miracle to see him return to even a shell of the player he was. The Lakers brass must hope he decides to retire in the offseason.
The team deserves praise for its performance. Unfortunately for the team, that performance has again raised expectations. The key to the remainder of the season is whether Bryant moves the ball freely as D’Antoni clearly prefers or if he dominates the ball as in years past. With so many shooters present, this team may resemble, with Bryant, the 2007-2008 team that came out of nowhere to become contenders.
