Post Play and Perimeter Shooting – Kevin Love. I think all Laker fans are hoping for Kevin Love to don a Laker jersey. What makes him particularly special is, he’s not the greatest athlete, but he combines a great motor with fundamental NBA skills. He can play in the post. He won the 3-point shooting contest a year back. He’s able to outrebound everyone else on the floor, including Dwight Howard. He’s not a great shotblocker, but provides consistent help defense, and is able to body up his own man in the paint. He’s unselfish. He’s not intimidated by anyone. Going up against Blake Griffin the other night, he finished the game with 45 points, 19 rebounds, and 6 assists. He’s shooting just over 38% behind the arc, but averaging 26 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 assists per game? Yes please.
