Overall, these prospects did do well at the NBA Draft Combine.  All three players have been interviewed by the Lakers, and chances are, all three players will be brought in for individual workouts.  The 2014 NBA Draft seems deeper than usual, in the sense that, projected late-lottery picks would have gone higher in previous average drafts.

May 20th is coming soon.  The Lakers have a tough decision ahead of them in regards to the pick.  Still, if any of these players are drafted onto the Laker team, each would be considered a good decision.  The idea of a player “being a reach” is highly disputable.  That mentality doesn’t work well if the organization knows who they want.  That’s the mentality that has players like Damian Lillard, Nicholas Batum, and Rajon Rondo slip into later parts of the lottery or even the late 1st round.  Considering their level of NBA talent, they wouldn’t be considered a reach if their respective drafts were done today.  Let’s just hope that the Lakers make the best decision, while going for the best player available, not just the best athlete available.
