The Case for Dario Saric
By Mike Garcia
What is Dario Saric’s identity or talent on the floor?
First and foremost, Dario Saric is a playmaker. He sees the court with a level of vision that is matched with good NBA point guards. He excels in transition, but is also able to slice defenses with his passing skills within the halfcourt set. In terms of size and athleticism, he’ll remind NBA fans of Hedo Turkoglu. He’s not tremendously explosive or quick, but has great height with good strength. It is his skill set that sets him apart. Some may think of Toni “The Waiter” Kukoc, but he’s not as pure of a shooter. Kukoc was more of a shooting guard with power forward size. He liked to slash to the hoop, create plays for others, and hit behind the arc. The post game came later. Dario Saric, on the other hand, does everything equally well. He has a base set of post up skills. He hits behind the arc at a solid rate. He shoots equally well both off-the-dribble for a pull up shot, or in catch and shoot situations.
