What if he doesn’t reach his potential?

Mar 21, 2014; Raleigh, NC, USA; Duke Blue Devils forward Rodney Hood (5) drives to the basket against Mercer Bears forward Bud Thomas (5) in the first half of a men

The worst case scenario is, that Rodney Hood ends up as shooter, often settling for the perimeter jumpshot and showing lackluster effort defensively.  He’s too dynamic offensively to just sit in the corner like Steve Novak or Steve Kerr to create spacing in offensive situations. Ronald Murray of the Seattle Supersonics was an undersized shooting guard with great scoring skills.  He was great at the mid-range game and often due for big scoring nights, but couldn’t sustain the same effort defensively, nor could he expand his offensive game to create shots for teammates.

Rodney Hood is a long way from being that kind of player, but in terms of style and skill-level, they are similar.
