Deonte Burton is a different breed. He’s 6’1″ with a 6’7″ wingspan and very explosive. He can handle the basketball, breakdown his defender, and shoot out the 3-point line. Why is he on the list? He lacks basketball IQ in running a halfcourt set. Too often, he was found running down a 35 second shot clock all the way down, only to force a bad shot. Ball movement was non-existent. While his assist-to-turnover ratio is good, at just over 2:1, scouts and executives should expect more out of a senior point guard who is knocking on 23 years of age. Everyone wants Vinnie Johnson. But, who wants Von Wafer?
