Aaron Gordon
Sixth on the list is Aaron Gordon. The fact that Aaron Gordon is at the bottom of this current list, doesn’t mean he can’t be the best player of this list. I still think he can be a David Lee-type of offensive player with better ball-handling and 3-point range. David Lee was a 20 point per game, 10 rebound per game power forward for the Knicks. The additional offensive skills may make Gordon more of a threat. He’s a better defensive player than Lee ever was. Why the comparison to David Lee? Both players have excellent body control and explosiveness around the hoop. He’s still the media darling of the draft of local Los Angeles cable stations, but it is so tough to overlook his 42% free throw percentage. His shooting behind the arc is acceptable at 35%. Like Vonleh, he may come off as a project. It may be a few years before he comes into his own.
