Coach Byron Scott had an interview on Fox Sports West. In a two-minute clip, he reveals how he’s going to treat Kobe Bryant, that he’s open to feedback from him, and how minutes are going to be sorted out. Byron admits that he has a number in mind for his minutes. Thinking ahead, he wants Kobe fresh at the end of the season, getting ready for the playoffs.
While the conversation has not yet taken place with Bryant, at least there is a plan in place for the marathon season. Teams that try to sprint the season, burn out well before playoff time. An extra week off during All-Star break will help players recover from injuries and the first half of the season, but veteran playoff teams always excel at the second half of the season.
It looks like Byron Scott has the expectation for the Laker team to make the playoffs.
That should make plenty of Laker fans happy, looking forward to the upcoming season.
