Mamba in the Morning: Michael Beasley out in Miami?

Morning Lakers Nation!

With news around the Lakers quiet, let’s take a look around the league for some big NBA news.

One of the potential targets for the Lakers creating the most buzz is Michael Beasley. The enigmatic forward has the talent, but lacks the maturity. After spending a season with the Heat last year and the Big 3, it doesn’t appear Beasley made a lasting impression.

"One veteran NBA scout said Michael Beasley is a far better player than journeyman Shawne Williams and questioned the Heat for signing Williams to guaranteed money. So why hasn’t the Heat tried to re-sign Beasley when it could use his offense?A person with direct knowledge cited several reasons for the Heat’s lack of interest: Inconsistency, lack of trust in his defense (and ability to execute the Heat’s defensive system), and maturity/focus issues, which are still a concern even though he improved somewhat in that regard last season."

Given the Lakers current status as likely outside the playoffs looking in, the Lakers still might look Beasley’s way, who could be a low-risk, high reward player on a minimum contracts.

In slightly more shocking news, rumors started swirling yesterday that former Cavalier big man and 39-year old big man Zydrunas Ilgauskas was attempting an NBA comeback. However, Fox Sports Ohio’s Sam Amico put an end to those rumors.

"FYI: No truth to rumors of Zydrunas Ilgauskas comeback attempt with Cavs, Big Z’s agent tells @BobCavsinsider.– Sam Amico"

It was a farfetched rumor from the get-go, considering Illgauskas’ age, but it’s officially a non-story.

Let us know down below Lakers fans what you think of Michael Beasley. Is he worth the risk?
