Looking Back: 1990s Lakers All-Decade Team
By Jacob Rude
Power Forward – Elden Campbell
The only position weaker than small forward during the 90s was the power forward. While Campbell wins this almost by default having spent eight and a half seasons with the Lakers in the decade, he was nothing more than a serviceable player. He averaged 10.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 601 games played in purple and gold.
Due to his longevity, the only other options would be Robert Horry and A.C. Green, but neither amassed the profile of Campbell. Campbell’s biggest contribution, however, was being apart of a trade with Jones to bring in Glen Rice, JR Reid, and BJ Armstrong, all key contributors to the Lakers title.
However, that doesn’t take away from the longevity of Campbell’s career in the league, nor does it change his spot on the list as the Lakers power forward of the 90s.
Honorable Mention: Robert Horry, AC Green
