Along with the great performance of Kobe Bryant, we were also treated to a bit of a throwback performance of Steve Nash. Nash got to the rim like his old self, finishing off-balance, wrong-footed lay-ups. The fact he got to the rim is a contrast to the Nash we’ve seen in previous seasons, who physically labored bringing the ball up the court and relied more on his passing than his scoring.
Similar to Bryant, this was just one unofficial game in limited minutes, but it goes a long way to boost his confidence as well as the fan’s confidence. For the Lakers to have success, as has been said many times, Nash and Bryant will have to CONSISTENTLY play at a high level. Monday was a good step in the right direction, but there’s still a lot of proving left to do.
