The Lakers curse is real. After sitting out yesterday’s practice, Steve Nash suffered another setback….by picking up his luggage.
Nash hurt his back carrying bags today, Byron Scott said. Did not practice. Wouldn't count on him playing Thursday vs. Utah.

If this isn’t a sign that the Lakers are cursed, I don’t know what is. I guess the better question, which has been asked by many on Twitter, is why was Nash carrying his own luggage with all the rookies around?
Nonetheless, if Nash can’t handle carrying his luggage, how can he expect to compete in the NBA? It may be time for Nash to take a serious look at his circumstances.
Aside from Nash, five other Lakers sat out practice today, and the general consensus is that none of them will play in tomorrow night’s game against the Utah Jazz.
Same 6 Lakers that have been out (Nash, Young, Henry, Clarkson, Kelly, Lin) did not practice today, and are not expected to play tomorrow.

Injury Updates: Xavier Henry is out for tomorrow. Jeremy Lin is 50/50. Jordan Clarkson is out for tom. Ryan Kelly could be available Sun.

Jeremy Lin remains the most likely – and possibly only – of those listed to play tomorrow, but considering it’s the preseason, there is nothing worth risking. However, the Lakers are going to be low on point guards, so they may need Lin to play if they want to develop any continuity.
The other three, Xavier Henry, Jordan Clarkson, and Ryan Kelly, all seem very unlikely to play tomorrow’s contest, and as is the case with Lin, there’s no need to risk anything. This would also give the Lakers a chance to featured players like Ronnie Price and some of the training camp invites, as well as giving more playing time to players like Ed Davis who have impressed in the preseason so far.
