Draft pick: Their own second-rounder
Stipulation: Protected 31-40
The Lakers have a chance at keeping their own second round pick, which seems like a likely scenario as well. The pick would go to Orlando as part of the Howard trade, with this being the last year the pick is obligated to the Magic.
Assuming the Lakers finish with one of the ten worst records in the league, they’ll keep this pick. Considering what we’ve seen from them early in the preseason, keeping this pick seems rather likely.
Draft pick: Clippers’ second-rounder
Stipulation: protected 31-50, 56-60
The trickiest pick for the Lakers to get, this pick would go to LA if it falls in the 51-55 range. That would see the Clippers finishing somewhere between the 6th to 10th best record in the league, a doable feat. Last year, they finished with the 3rd best record, but with the constant shuffling, the Clippers could slip into the 6-10 range.
