Marginal Value
Ellington has a skillset that is desirable to teams: shooting. After coming to the Lakers on the minimum, he’s proven that he still can shoot the ball and can even hit shots off the dribble. If a team is looking for some outside shooting at a cheap price around the trade deadline, Ellington’s name could be thrown around considering he’s going to be cheap as well.
6. Ryan Kelly
Kelly has two skillsets that is desirable: size and shooting. He’s a prototypical stretch four. He was one of the better rookies from his draft class and earned a guaranteed contract from the Lakers this off-season. The only reason he comes in so low is that he is injured and has had a nearly impossible time staying on the court this year.
Clarkson is ranked this high based on his potential. Frustratingly so at this time, Byron Scott won’t give the rookie extended minutes. In his time, he has looked explosive, aggressive, and full of potential. The likelihood of the Lakers trading him is incredibly low, but he does have a good amount of value.
4. Nick Young
The biggest thing holding Young back from being traded is his large contract. Given his production value, he probably outplays his value, but will that be the case in a couple years? On top of that, Young is a fan-favorite and trading him would likely cause some backlash that the Lakers wouldn’t want.
