Trade Rumors Galore
3. Ed Davis
It’s amazing that Davis came to LA on a minimum deal. The debate has already started whether the Lakers should trade the young, energetic forward or if they should hang on to him and give him big bucks this summer. The decision is going to be dependent on the Lakers front office for the future. If they do want to deal him, they could get a nice return at the trade deadline.
2. Jeremy Lin
The biggest asset of Lin is not his level of play, but his big expiring contract. While he CAN be a solid starter, he’s too inconsistent to warrant the large money he’s being paid. Instead, he’s a commodity because teams can offload a big, multi-year deal for Lin’s expiring contract. The Lakers very well could nab a player and an extra asset
1. Jordan Hill
Hill has everything you want in an asset. High level of play, big expiring contract. At his current level ,he’s flirting with the possibility of the Lakers netting a first-round pick in a trade. To be fair, it would likely be a late-round pick, but would a team like Toronto or Memphis give up their pick to get an big-time energy guy for the playoff run? What if Milwaukee, who is positioned in the playoffs right now, offered up their first-round pick?
