Anthony Davis is going to FEAST on Sunday
On Sunday night, the Lakers host the front-runner for the MVP award this season. Stephen Curry has been great, but there is no doubt that Anthony Davis has been the best player in the league so far. Davis is averaging 25.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.1 blocks, and 2.3 steals. He also leads the league in Player efficiency rating.
Davis’ breakout year is not the main reason I say that he is going to feast on Sunday. It’s the fact that the Lakers let Tyler Zeller score 24 points and grab 14 rebounds on 10-11 shooting. The Lakers were also killed on the glass against the Celtics, 38-54.
A big reason is that Jared Sullinger was stretching the floor for Rondo and Zeller to run the pick and roll, but what is going to happen when Ryan Anderson is stretching the floor for Anthony Davis? You CANNOT leave Ryan Anderson open, so Anthony Davis is going to have a clear lane for a majority of the time.
The Lakers give up the third most points in the paint in the NBA. So after watching Jared Sullinger and Tyler Zeller look like the best 4-5 combo in the NBA, I can only imagine what Ryan Anderson and Anthony Davis will do. I hope I’m wrong but I expect at least a 30 point 15 rebound night for Anthony Davis on Sunday night.
