Assists
All-Time Leader – John Stockton 15,806 assists
It may be a surprise to see this stat on this list, but Bryant actually has a good chance of getting into the top 20 in assists, something no one in the top 20 in points can claim.
Bryant has accumulated 6,046 assists over his career, an average of 330 a season. While that currently has Bryant in 30th place, only roughly 400 assists separate 30th and 20th. Those who can do quick math can figure out how close Bryant is to the top 20.
On top of that, Bryant has seemed to embrace a role as of facilitator in his waning years. The result is that he’ll likely up his assist totals as his career finishes. For now, we’ll assume he maintains his average.
Projected Career-End Totals – 6,583 assists, 20th all-time
Steals
All-Time Leader – Stockton 3,265 steals
In his prime, Bryant was as good as anyone on the defensive end, and he racked up the steals to prove it. He currently sits at 14th all-time, but has a chance to sneak into the top 10.
We know that Bryant has taken a HUGE step back in terms of on-ball defense, but he’s still a ball-hawker who is always looking for steals. His average number of steals is as good as it ever has been this season, despite his defensive deficiencies.
Bryant sits just under 200 steals out of the top ten, and with no active players in front of him, he very well might get himself into the top 10.
Projected Career-End Totals – 2,039 steals, 12th all-time
Turnovers
All-Time Leader – Malone 4,524 turnovers
Our final category will be a not-so-glorious one. One of the many knocks on Bryant has been his turnovers, which have plagued him his whole career. As he’s grown older, little has changed in terms of that.
Currently, Bryant sits in a comfortable 4th place all-time in turnovers with 3,836 over his career. Fortunately for his fans, there’s a big gap between he and first place Malone, who likely won’t be relinquishing the top spot.
With no active player in his ballpark once again, Bryant only has legends in front of him. At least he won’t have the undesirable spot at the top of this list.
Projected Career-End Totals – 4,201 turnovers, 3rd all-time
