Despite being incredibly unrealistic, this is what the Lakers roster would look like if all these trades were completed:
PG – Jordan Clarkson
SG – Kobe Bryant, Nick Young, Dion Waiters
SF – Wesley Johnson, Chris Copeland
PF – Greg Monroe, Carlos Boozer, Tarik Black, Luis Scola, Ryan Kelly, (and Julius Randle)
C – Kendrick Perkins, Joel Anthony, Robert Sacre
LAL 2015 1st round pick
OKC 2015 1st round pick
LAL 2015 2nd round pick
IND 2015 2nd round pick
LAC 2015 2nd round pick
Obviously, the Lakers front court would be an absolute cluster, but players like Boozer, Scola, Perkins, and Anthony would not be returning and would not be in the Lakers future plans.
The key thing with this roster is that the Lakers acquired assets. Players like Waiters and Monroe could be valuable going forward, but more importantly, they’d have five draft picks going into June’s draft. That’s a lot of ammunition for Kupchak to work with.
This team would still likely be bad enough that they’d maintain their own pick while still allowing players like Jordan Clarkson, Tarik Black and Ryan Kelly to develop. In the end, it’d be a big time win for the Lakers.
