21. Afros > Bald heads
You know what’s better than having a bald head? Only have an afro.
When Bryant entered the league, he was a brash, kid sporting an afro and a sense of cockiness. He took the league by storm, earning his way into the All-Star game starting line-up by 1998. In his first two titles with Shaquille O’Neal, he donned the afro which gave him superhuman leaping abilities, we think.
Since those early 2000s, Bryant has since went bald-headed but doesn’t seem to have the same brashness the young Kobe did. Now affectionately referred to as the Frobe Years, Bryant’s early rise to stardom will always have a certain afro hairstyle attached to it.
And really, bald is just boring. Sorry MJ, but your shiny dome doesn’t win this one.
