Sixth Man of the Year, Swag-tastic Play of the Year – Nick Young
Young returned this season with a big contract and even bigger swag. Save for his recent shooting slump that he’s finally busted out of, he’s matched last year’s performance and then some this year. He’s played Robin to Bryant’s Batman, even taking over the lead superhero role at times.
Never was that more evident than on this game-winner in San Antonio, probably the most Swaggy play of Young’s time in LA. Unsurprisingly, Young has taken a step back in his averages from last year, but remains just as potent a scorer. His per-36 minute stats are neck and neck with last year’s averages, as are his per-100 possessions figures.
Not only does Young have a good case for Sixth Man of the Year in the entire league this year, he has a solid case to be included in the three-point shootout in All-Star weekend this year. And seriously, who wouldn’t want to see Swaggy at All-Star weekend?
