2. Magic Johnson
There is no right or wrong here. We all knew it would come down to Bryant and Magic, and it is just way to close to judge. Both of them achieved success in complete different ways, one dominating by passing, and one by scoring. Magic Johnson, the greatest point guard of all time, led the NBA in assists four different times, and finished his career with an 11.2 assists per game average, most of all time. Johnson is also second in career triple doubles, trailing only Oscar Robertson.
To nobody’s surprise, Magic is the Lakers all time assists leader, second in steals, and an interesting stat, has the highest offensive plus minus of any Laker of all time. Magic’s resume speak for itself. The leader of “Showtime” won five titles, with three finals MVP awards. He his a three time MVP of the regular season, a 12 time all star, and a 9 time All NBA first team member.
Magic ended his career in 1996, playing all of his 14 seasons with the Lakers, and until MJ won six titles, was highly considered the best player of all time.
