13. Robert Sacre
Somehow, Robert Sacre is still on the Lakers roster, despite showing no signs of improvement. Sacre entered the season with nothing guaranteed, as the Lakers had a full front-court rotation with Randle, Davis, Hill, and Boozer. Once Randle went down, Davis became the power forward, sliding Sacre into the back up center spot. Sacre did little to prove he was worthy of minutes, but the Lakers really had no other choice.
Despite his size, Sacre ranks sixth in total rebound percentage on the team, which is the percentage of rebounds a player grabs when on the floor. Sacre has also shot a poor 41% from the floor, which is worse than any big man on the roster.
Sacre’s minutes pretty much disappeared once the team signed Tarik Black, who is a much better rebounder, and finisher. Sacre starting Friday night’s game against San Antonio could not make tanking look more obvious.
Sacre has spent three years on the Lakers, and whether he gets traded before the deadline, or cut during the off-season, I would be surprised if he is still a Laker by the start of the 2015-16 season. Plays like this make me wonder how Sacre has stuck around this long.
