3. Toronto Raptors

This would be a situation of the Lakers moving in on a player whose stock is low right now while also acquiring a potentially nice asset. Ross has had some issues of late in Toronto, having been benched and seeing his minutes reduced. Meanwhile, the Raptors have had little negative impact since the move, going 10-3 in the 13 games he’s been benched. Moving him for an asset like Hill, who would bolster their frontcourt, could be a worthwhile risk.

The Lakers can cash in by acquiring a cheap, talented player in Ross who could use a change of scenery. They also get a player in Landry Fields who serves two purposes: he’s an upgrade over Wesley Johnson, who is the long true small forward on the roster right now, and two, he’s a (former) close friend of Jeremy Lin‘s which could help him on the court and hopefully help him improve his disappointing season.
