Lakers Trade Rumors 2015: 5 Deals Involving Jordan Hill
By Jacob Rude
4. Charlotte Hornets
Another situation of the Lakers acquiring prospects for Hill. In this scenario, the Hornets have been looking for improvements not only to ensure their playoff spot, but to ensure they can keep Al Jefferson after this season. Depending on just how desperate they are, they could even consider guaranteeing Hill’s second season on his contract, nullifying his no-trade clause. The Hornets would get a top option next to Jefferson and sport one of the better front courts in the conference.
The Lakers would be taking a risk on two potential prospects. In Biyombo, they have a rim protector who was once a high draft pick that never really panned on. Considering he’s a restricted free agent next summer and the Lakers could simply choose not to extend a qualifying offer, he’s basically a half-year rental. With Vonleh, they bring in a prospect who they had their eye on during the NBA Draft and one who could, down the line, make a formidable duo with Julius Randle.
You have to also remember, it’s Michael Jordan running this team. He’s not known for wise business decisions.
