Lakers Trade Rumors 2015: 5 Deals Involving Jordan Hill
By Jacob Rude
5. Brooklyn Nets
This final trade is the one I like the least, but probably the one most likely to happen. Mainly because the Lakers refuse to accept that tanking is the smart solution and refuse to accept that Brook Lopez is not worth the risk. Regardless, the Lakers have been linked to Lopez once already this year and multiple times in years past.
Lopez, when healthy, is a top center in the league. However, he’s pretty much never healthy and not worth his enormous contract. And you’d be on the hook for two years with his contract. It makes little sense for the Lakers to make the deal. Lopez also takes a huge chunk of the cap space next summer, and he alone is not enough for the Lakers to become contenders.
