Lakers News: Boozer, Hill Benched “Four To Five Games”
By Jacob Rude
In the constant flux of the Lakers’ rotation this year under head coach Byron Scott, players have went from starters to DNP-CD (did not play-coach’s decision) in the span of one. Tonight, former starters Carlos Boozer and Jordan Hill were moved to the bench and it appears that they’ll be their for the near future.
This is actual a welcome roster change by most, I would imagine, as it opens up playing time for players like Ed Davis, Tarik Black, and even Robert Sacre, who will get one more look before this off-season. While it’s unfortunate for both Boozer and Hill, they’ve both been very professional in the manner in the past and likely will continue to be going forward.
Conspiracy theorists might look at the Lakers next four to five games and notice road trips to Philadelphia and Minnesota, two of the teams currently ahead of the Lakers in the draft lottery. This is potentially great news for pro-tankers, if not for Hill and Boozer not playing, but extended minutes for someone like Sacre, who has struggled mightily this season.
Do you think the Lakers have hidden tanking initiatives behind sitting Boozer and Hill? Let us know in the comments below!
