It’s a great time to be a basketball fan. The NBA playoffs get better with every passing day and with the conference finals approaching, it’s only going to get more intense. If you’re a young kid watching at home, this is a perfect time to fall in love with the sport.

The same can’t be said about football. The NFL seems to be involved in several scandals and the latest one involves their poster boy, Tom Brady.
The New England Patriots won the Super Bowl last season, but before they hoisted the Lombardi Trophy, they were called out for using balls that were under inflated, which is against the rules in the NFL. After an investigation found Tom Brady and the Patriots were culpable, the NFL suspended Brady for four games and fined the team $1 million among other things.
Laker great Magic Johnson weighed in on the subject. He took to his twitter account to support the NFL’s decision in this case:
With Tom Brady being suspended for 4 games, the Commissioner came down hard & fair. Tom, the fans will miss you for those games!

Johnson was quick to applaud the NFL’s efforts, but also acknowledged that the punishment handed to Brady and the Patriots was a bit harsh. This has been a highly debated topic and it seems most people outside of New England agree with Brady’s suspension.
The Patriots also lost draft picks, so this will really hurt the franchise. The Pats are the defending Super Bowl champions, but instead of celebrating their title, all the focus is on Deflate Gate.
