Andrew Goudelock
NBA Comparison: Jannero Pargo
Strengths:
“Quick combo-guard with a deadly shooting stroke… Very energetic offensively…Hard to defend… Good in isolation situations… Employs an excellent pull-up jump shot with a quick and efficient release… Prolific three- point shooter… Has legitimate NBA range and then some…”
Weaknesses:
“Undersized for a shooting guard at the next level… Not very skilled in the paint, due to his below average athleticism and size… Most of his offense comes from the perimeter… A solid passer but certainly not a true point guard… Turnover prone….”
How accurate was his evaluation?
This YouTube video explains it all:
The “Mini Mamba” was a fan favorite during his one full season as a Laker. But as the video shows, Goudelock can only do one thing: shoot the ball. Plus on top of that, Goudelock only showed to have two types of shots: shooting the three and a running floater. That was all Goudelock could do. Goudelock’s PER in his stint as a Laker was 8.4, and his WS/48 was 0.11, both well below league averages.
