2) Minnesota drafts Jahlil Okafor and the Lakers select Karl Anthony-Towns.

Showered by potential, Towns is a beast on defense and the boards. With speed and quickness to guard smaller players and hustle to protect the rim, most experts believe Towns has the most upside in the draft. The Lakers have suffered defensively for the past couple years and the quickest fix is to clog the middle with a defensive anchor. Towns is athletic for his size and can run the floor with Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson. He isn’t as polished as Okafor on offense, but with the likes of Randle, Clarkson and Kobe Bryant he wouldn’t be depended on to score immediately. With the two big men likely to go 1-2 in the draft, the Lakers are in a good position to improve drastically overnight.
