Lakers Draft: Anthony-Towns Will Only Meet With Top 2 Teams
By Alex Torres
The Minnesota Timberwolves are in the driver’s seat, they get to pick between Karl Anthony-Towns and Jahlil Okafor. It’s a good place to be, they have all this time to decide which player they like best. The Lakers on the other hand must wait for Minnesota to pick in order to make a decision. Who will fall to number two? That’s the question that will be answered on June 25th.

Most predict the Wolves will select Towns with the number one overall pick, but that’s obviously not for certain. For Towns, it’s pretty simple, he is either going number one or two. It’s extremely unlikely that he falls to the third slot.
According to Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog.com, Towns will only meet with the Lakers and Timberwolves, but no NBA team will get to see him in a workout:
"Projected No. 1 draft pick Karl-Anthony Towns will interview with the top two teams in the NBA Draft lottery — the Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Lakers — but won’t workout for any teams, sources told SNY.tv."
Not a surprising move by Towns. Unless you’re living under a rock, you know that Towns and Okafor are the consensus one and two picks. The only question left to be answered is in what order will they go. Minnesota has that decision and we just have to the clock is ticking.
Both the Lakers and Wolves have enough film on both of these prospects that the only thing left to do is interview them. That’s when Mitch Kupchak will decide on who will be the right selection for the Lakers.
