4. No Post Presence
A huge portion of the Princeton offense is run through the post. Last season, the Lakers did not have a big who was comfortable making the necessary passes from the high or pinch post. Though Roy Hibbert’s size and ability to see over the defense is a huge step up from an of last year’s options, he isn’t the versatile center that the Princeton typically requires.
One thing that may help this year is Kobe’s move to small forward because it enables passing from the high post. Further, we have to hope that Brandon Bass’ sound decision making from 10-15 feet in Boston carries over now that he is playing for the Purple and Gold.
