Social Media lights up with Lakers fans conclusions about the coach, the team, and the players during and after each Lakers game. That said, many seem to overreact.

On Wednesday night, some Lakers fans gave up on the entire season after just one loss. You know who you are! One game, unbelievable.

The Minnesota Timberwolves were in mourning, playing for their beloved coach, Flip Saunders, something which seemed to inspire Ricky Rubio to have the best game of his life.

Yes, Byron Scott could have coached the game differently. Yes, Byron should have called a time-out earlier, he had three left. No, Kobe should not have been given the ball to shoot the game winner, he had a freezing 0-5 hand at that point in the contest. Yes, Lou Williams floater missed, but it was a good look.

All said, that doesn’t mean the coach should be fired, or that Bryant should retire, or that there wasn’t a superb reason D’Angelo Russell was on the bench at the end of the game.

Social media adds a whole new element to watching, reporting and learning about a game when it’s being played. Some Lakers fans are angry all the time, others are always positive and then, you have the realists.

Then, there were the fans that are already shopping for a new coach.

Then, there was the “Kobe is too old, he should retire” argument.

Lakers fans lose it all when they lose a game. Let’s look at some woeful fans as they expressed their sadness:

On Wednesday night’s Season Opener, Lakers fans showed they haven’t changed; they still tend to overreact.

For some, there is no room for any mistakes due to the excitement of the season and the fact that they see some life in this young team.

With that in mind, Lakers fans should try to hold off on making season long predictions or conclusions after only one game, give it five at least. In the end, it’s all entertainment.
