2. Nick Young is Probably Gone Soon

Early in this season, one of the quiet storylines was that Nick Young coming off of the bench was one of the Lakers’ most reliable offensive weapons. While he hasn’t really trailed off too terribly, he has found himself in the doghouse of a certain Lakers head coach and has seen his workload reduced to essentially coming off of the bench in garbage time and rare usage otherwise.

Because of this development over the course of the road trip, we saw Young try and fight Detroit Pistons forward Anthony Tolliver, make several frustrated comments to the media about the way things are going in Los Angeles, and generally look unhappy to be there.

It seems pretty clear with everything going on and the fact that Young likely isn’t part of the future for this organization that he’s going to be on his way out of LA relatively soon. It’s unfortunate considering how good he’s been for the Lakers on both ends of the floor at times this season, but this situation seems like it’s virtually unworkable at this point and it may just be better for all parties involved if Swaggy P is traded away from the Lakers.
