Lakers: 50 Greatest Players in Franchise History

36. Cedric Ceballos

Cedric Ceballos has historic notoriety in the NBA for a number of reasons. Not only was he an unreal high-flyer during his time with the Phoenix Suns, but the forward was also a highly productive player. Though it was a brief time that he spent in Los Angeles, the height of Ceballos’ production in the NBA came over his two and a half seasons that he spent with the Lakers.

Ceballos was simply unreal as a member of the organization. He played in 144 games over his time with the team and just tore it up. He averaged 20.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.1 steals per game while shooting an impressive 51.7 percent from the floor. He was a transcendent type talent who was ultimately forced out too soon from the Lakers as the Kobe-Shaq era entered its infant stages in the 1996-97 season.

Despite the brevity of his run with the Lakers, Ceballos was truly an unforgettable player and presence in the history of the organization. Not only was he able to fill up the box score in a major way, but he was also able to do it with flash and excitement. If he’s been with the team longer, Ceballos would have undoubtedly vaulted into the top 25 of these rankings.
