Injuries Suck

With the injuries that Lakers fans have had to suffer through in regards to Kobe Bryant in recent years, this isn’t really news. However, the fact that Larry Nance Jr. had to leave Saturday’s game against the Jazz in the first quarter with a knee injury that then kept him out of action on Sunday only further instilled a deep hatred of injuries in the hearts of Lakers fans.

Nance has been the bright spot for the Lakers for most of the season, at least in terms of his consistent performance. He’s shown the polish of a four-year college player coming into the NBA with effort on both ends of the floor and clear progression in terms of his offensive game as he’s gotten more run and since being inserted into the starting lineup.

However, Nance isn’t the only one to be bitten by the injury bug over the weekend. Julius Randle was banged up on Sunday as he played a larger role in the rotation in relief of Nance with his status being kind of up in the air as he looks to see if he broke his nose or not.

Throw in the fact that Kobe’s farewell tour has taken an odd turn as he deals with injuries to his shoulder and Achilles on a nightly basis and the injuries are starting to mount for the Lakers. Leave it to injuries to make an already hardship of a Lakers season even more brutal.
