3. Lakers Get Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins

The general consensus around the NBA is that the Minnesota Timberwolves have the strongest young core in the league in Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins. The prevailing thought process is that the Wolves will be heavily in playoff contention in the very near future with those two star-caliber talents leading the way. Lakers fans should be drooling at the mere hypothetical (albeit improbable) though of Russell, Wiggins, Randle, and Towns occupying the same court while all four wear the glorious purple and gold. Sure, all four players would need development, but any development period would be worth it when that core is reeling off roughly 15 consecutive NBA championships while losing maybe five games over the course of those 15 seasons.

The salary cap rules remain hilarious when it comes to this trade as both Towns and Wiggins are still on their rookie contracts and, by rule, could be brought to the Lakers in exchange for only Lou Williams and Brandon Bass. Though all these pipe dream scenarios put the Lakers in a great position, this one sets them up best for the hypothetical, never-going-to-be-reality future.
