In the wake of Kobe Bryant’s final two games, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant weighed in on their favorite Mamba moments
Kobe Bryant has two games left in his NBA career and left as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. Without question, it’s a moment that hits home for Lakers fans, but also with basketball fans and players that have been around or following the league over the course of Kobe’s 20-year career.
Not only has Kobe Bryant been in the league for 20 years, but he’s also been successful for the better part of those two decades. Subsequently, some of the contemporary greats in the league have been influenced and awed by the exploits of The Black Mamba.
Ahead of his final game against Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder, Durant and Golden State Warriors star/reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry weighed in on their favorite memories of Kobe Bryant as the Lakers legend makes his way out of the league:
Curry’s Kobe memory isn’t wholly surprising as many people in his generation remember the 81-point game as the pinnacle of NBA performance for said generation. However, it’s the memory that Durant shares that really stands out from this.
It’s unsurprising that KD would remember one of his first meeting with Kobe Bryant (R.I.P. Sonics), but it’s pretty cool to see that he has such a personal memory to share in regards to the Lakers legend. The line that he felt like Kobe was just “by himself” out on the floor is so true of many moments over the course of Bryant’s illustrious career.
