When considering Brandon Ingram’s youth (he will turn 19 in September), his ability to create for himself is truly remarkable. Though he has a reputation primarily as an elite spot-up shooter, Ingram has shown that he has what it takes to create for himself when necessary.

For one, Ingram flashed a silky fade-away jumper that will serve him well against smaller opponents going forward.

This fade-away jumpshot, in combination with Ingram’s precocious ability to post up smaller players, proves that Ingram can do what it takes to score in isolation when his team needs him to do so.

Especially on the Lakers, Ingram and point guard D’Angelo Russell would make for an exciting duo of players who have an affinity for shooting from the post.

Additionally, Ingram’s ball handling ability not only allows for possibility of easy buckets at the rim for himself, but it frees up his teammates for easy points as well, two things we will discuss later.

It is not every day that you find a 6’10 forward who will handles of a guard, so the Lakers should be drooling at the prospect of having Ingram fill the hole at small forward.
