The Skal Labissiere NBA Draft train has been a roller coaster to say the very least. He was projected to be the likely No. 3 prospect in this draft (if not higher) at the start of the college basketball season and continually watched his stock plummet over the first three-quarters of his lone season with the Kentucky Wildcats. However, things have been on the upswing since that point.

While Skal was bullied tremendously with his slight frame and lack of aggressiveness early in the season, he became much stronger and authoritative at the end of the year and was able to have an impact on both ends of the floor. Moreover, Labissiere showed that he hadn’t lost any of the skill at his size that made him such an exciting prospect to start with. These things and high opinions have only been confirmed through his pre-draft workouts where all accounts have him looking phenomenal.

If he’d played even marginally well early in the year for Kentucky, Skal would be higher than No. 10. Because of the concerns on top of that lack of production early on, though, he’s still in the lottery, but not as firmly as he would’ve been.

Next: No. 9 Poeltl
