6. Jaylen Brown
Age: 19
Position: SF
School/Country: California
Height: 6-7
Weight: 223 pounds
For me at least, I would have loved to see what Jaylen Brown would have measured in regard to his vertical leap and other measurable when he performed at the NBA Draft Combine. Considering that he’s a bit undersized if he’s to play the three at the next level and considering his lack of outside shooting, that’s something that’s worth knowing to me.
Even still, the assumption is that Brown is a terrific athlete and he has great length to help at least somewhat compensate for his size—his wingspan was nearly seven feet at the combine. Moreover, he showed that he can affect the game in a number of ways when he’s on the floor in his one season at Cal.
In addition to all of this, he probably has one of the more NBA-ready frames in this draft at such a young age, which really helps his case in regards to potential. While there are obvious flaws in his game that keep him out of my top-5 and make him have clear development ahead, it’s hard to not see Brown as a solid lottery selection.
