4. Outside Shooting

There were many things that the Lakers were quite bad at last season. They were awful defensively, they were terrible at moving the ball, and they were terribly coached. However, one of their glaring problems on the offensive end of the floor was the fact that their outside shooting was nonexistent at times. When Nick Young is one of your best options on the roster at any aspect of the game, that’s not a great look.

However, Love has become an absolutely lethal threat from beyond the arc over the course of his career and has truly been able to stretch the floor no matter what situation he’s been a part of. Considering that he would instantly be the best outside shooter on the Lakers roster as soon as he arrived would be a great asset, however it’s also how he would fit into the offense as a perimeter threat is also valuable.

When you look at the Lakers roster from last season where guys like Julius Randle, Roy Hibbert, Tarik Black, and so on occupied spots in the frontcourt, you’ll notice that none of them possessed a legitimate ability to step out and knock down jumpers with any kind of consistency. Love would make the offense far more dynamic and really change things for the Lakers in a positive manner.
