3. Fresh Start

If there’s one thing that has been completely prevalent since Kevin Love first got to Cleveland, it’s the fact that he has been under heavy scrutiny from day one. Especially considering how the team has performed at times when he’s been out of the lineup (most notably in Game 3 of the Finals against the Golden State Warriors), it’s not always been a fun time with the Cavs for Love.

Subsequently, he’s a player that could undoubtedly use a fresh start in terms of his perception and in regards to his confidence. That’s where the Lakers could step in and absolutely be the right place for that to happen. Not only would they be a team in the position to welcome a new star without the same level of scrutiny that he’s been under in Cleveland, but the Lakers are also an ideally constructed team for him to get that fresh start.

Love’s need for a new beginning really mimics the Lakers organization as a whole when it comes to the post-Kobe Bryant. They are in need of new stars, are in need of moving forward in an entirely new direction, and are simply in need of something fresh. Love can be the catalyst for that while also having the same experience individually.
