Mobility and Speed

For someone who’s 6’9 and 250 pounds, Julius Randle’s foot speed is outstanding. This will be huge going forward in Randle’s career, as he is likely to see more favorable matchups against slower-footed players in a league in which player switching happens on a perpetual basis.

Just ask Jahlil Okafor and Robert Covington, two players who know first-hand just how fast Randle can be following a turnover.

Rebounding Prowess

It may be a bit of an understatement to say that Julius Randle’s rebounding is elite. Despite missing nearly his entire rookie season due to injury, Randle finished second among all rookies and sophomores in total rebounds, only behind reigning the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Karl Towns.

Rebounds like these show why.

Utilizing all of his physical gifts, Randle’s ability to rebound already renders him a valuable contributor in today’s NBA, regardless of his current inability to shoot from range. Defenses always have to account for his presence when he is on the floor.
