Honorable Mentions: Dario Saric, Joel Embiid

Malcolm Brogdon over Dario Saric? I know, I couldn’t believe it either but I was outnumbered. Not by much – but outnumbered nonetheless. You’ll always have next year with Ben Simmons, Philly.

Perhaps my peers took into account winning, which makes sense considering Saric nor teammate Joel Embiid have done much of this season. The Bucks, one the other hand, are heading back to the playoffs after missing out last season with a little help from second-round pick from Malcolm Brogdon.

In his first season in the NBA, Brogdon is contributing a modest 10.2 points per game while shooting just above 40 percent from beyond the arc. His 1.1 steals per game also leads all rookies. Not too shabby for someone taken with the No. 36 pick.

Brogdon will get the opportunity to show what he’s made of in the playoffs, starting this Saturday. Not too many other rookies can say the same.
