Shooting from inside the arc

Aside from Ball’s proficiency from deep, it is also important to note that he is a very efficient scorer from inside the arc as well.

This is illustrated by the fact that although Ball only took around four two-point field goal attempts per game for UCLA this season, he was able to convert on an exceptional 73.2%. This makes him even more of a threat offensively as he requires attention from everywhere on the floor.

With that being said, Ball can sometimes be reluctant to drive inside or take a mid-range jumper, especially in half-court situations. Ball attempted a jump shot inside the arc only 3% of the time while playing at UCLA.

This is something he may need to work on in order to become more of a versatile threat. For a Lakers offense that often utilizes ball screens and pick and rolls to create space both inside and outside the arc, Ball will have to be more aggressive inside the three-point line.
