Tyler Ennis

The first free agent the Lakers should consider is Tyler Ennis. Ennis played 22 games for the Lakers last season after being traded from the Houston Rockets, where he played a total of 31 games. During his stint with Los Angeles, he averaged 4.3 points and 1.6 assists in just under 18 minutes a game for the team.

Although these are clearly not eye-popping stats, Ennis impressed head coach Luke Walton last year with his defensive ability, as opponents shot 1.3% worse from the field while he guarded them. Most notably, from less than six feet from the basket, opponents shot 14.5% worse, showing his ability to disrupt players as they drive to the rim.

Moreover, although not a knock-down three-point shooter, Ennis shot slightly under 39% from beyond the arc for the Lakers this year while taking 2.5 per game, illustrating clear potential in this area considering the point-guard is currently only 22-years-old.

He would be a solid bench option for a Lakers backcourt that could have more additions after the 2017 NBA Draft.
