To start off a strong night for the Sacramento Kings, they were able to land one of the best prospects in the draft. With the fifth overall pick, the Kings selected the quickest player in the draft in De’Aaron Fox.
Fox had a great season at Kentucky and can be the starting point guard in Sacramento for years to come. As a team that has struggled for years now, getting a player like Fox can help speed up the rebuild in Sacramento.
In college, Fox was well-known for his ability to get to the basket with ease. With his great speed, this appears to be something that should be able to translate into the NBA. With good size, Fox was able to fill up the stat sheet. He averaged 16.7 points, 4.6 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game.
One of the things that Fox will have to work on is his shooting. He shot 24.6 percent from three-point range, which is something that will have to improve. Also, he shot 73.9 percent from the free-throw line. If Fox can improve his shot over the next few seasons, there is no reason why he can’t be an All-Star in the NBA. As the Kings move into their post-Demarcus Cousin era, Fox will look to the face of the franchise.
