It was a rough night if you were a fan of the Chicago Bulls. Just a few months ago, the Bulls had a 2-0 series lead against the Boston Celtics in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. After Rajon Rondo went down with an injury, the Celtics went on to win the series. Now, the Bulls are in a full rebuild.

On draft night, the Bulls sent their star Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for the seventh overall pick, Kris Dunn, and Zach Lavine. With Lavine coming off a major injury, he will certainly be a question mark for the Bulls. He will also be a free agent following next season.

Dunn was recently a top pick in the NBA Draft, but he hasn’t flourished yet in Minnesota. With the seventh overall pick, the Bulls got themselves a nice stretch four in Lauri Markkanen from Arizona. At 7’0”, Markkanen will bring some serious size to the Bulls’ front court. Also, he is considered by many to be the best shooter in the draft.

Shockingly, the Bulls also had to send the 16th overall pick with Butler to Minnesota. Even though Markkanen is a good player, the Bulls can’t receive a good grade with this pick because of the poor return they got for a true All-Star player in Butler.
