Los Angeles Lakers: Breaking down the 2017 Las Vegas Summer League roster
TUCSON, AZ – JANUARY 28: Gabe York

Gabe York; Point Guard

Gabe York is a local product, hailing from Orange Lutheran High School. He attended the University of Arizona, where many people involved with the Lakers also spent their college days. Like many players on the roster, York is capable of filling it up from deep.

In his senior year at Arizona, York made 42.1 percent of his three-pointers en route to 15 points per game. He didn’t do much else at Arizona, as he averaged only 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. As more of a shooting guard, York is a big undersized at only 6-feet-3 inches tall.

But, while with the Erie Bayhawks last season, York showed that he can still knock down three-pointers. He was one of the better shooters in the G-League, making 2.4 three-pointers per game at a 36.1 percent clip. He also averaged 4.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game, averaging 32.6 minutes.

York will have an uphill battle not only to make the Lakers training camp but even get playing time in Las Vegas. Ball, Hart, and their own G-League product, Blue, figure to dominate the minutes in the backcourt. Nwaba is going to be ahead of him on the depth chart as well.

York should get some minutes, but he will have to make the most of what is shaping up to be very limited opportunities.
